Electronic Shelf Edge Label (ESEL) Integration – Irish and UK Market

We’ve had the privilege of leading numerous impactful projects, including the implementation of ESELs (Electronic Shelf Edge Labels) across multiple EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale) platforms. This endeavor was particularly noteworthy, as it involved integrating state-of-the-art ESEL technology seamlessly into various EPOS systems. Our efforts in this regard were met with resounding success, as we effectively introduced this cutting-edge technology across diverse retail brands and platforms.

ESEL technology represents a paradigm shift in the retail landscape, empowering retailers of all profiles with the ability to leverage electronic shelf edge labels. This advancement not only enriches the shopping journey but also streamlines operational efficiencies to unprecedented levels. With ESEL technology at the forefront, prices, promotions, and product information can be swiftly updated, ensuring customers are equipped with the latest and most pertinent data during their shopping experience.

Our commitment to innovation extended beyond the implementation of ESEL technology. We introduced a pioneering feature known as “Auto Batching” within the Retail Solutions platform. This feature revolutionizes the management of pricing, promotions, and product updates for head office clients, enabling centralized control and effortless dissemination of updates to numerous branches and stores with a single click.

Auto Batching stands as another game-changing innovation, simplifying the process of updating prices and product information. Not only does it save invaluable time for retailers, but it also guarantees accuracy, thereby delivering a consistent and seamless shopping experience for customers across all touchpoints.

Digital Receipt Only! Feature on Lidl Plus App

We take immense pride in our track record of innovation and impactful contributions to the retail landscape. One of our notable achievements was the development and successful rollout of a groundbreaking feature that has revolutionised the shopping experience for millions of customers in Lidl stores across both Ireland and Northern Ireland.

We introduced a new feature that is the first of its kind in the Irish and UK markets, called “Digital Receipt Only!” allowing consumers the unique opportunity to decide whether they want a physical receipt or not after making a purchase. This innovative solution was a result of extensive low-code development, meticulous User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and rigorous testing at both the till and application layers to ensure its seamless integration into Lidl’s operational framework.

The impact of this forward-thinking feature has been nothing short of remarkable. To date, it has resulted in significant cost savings for Lidl stores across the entire island of Ireland, amounting to hundreds of thousands of euros. Not only has it improved operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, but it has also contributed to environmental sustainability by reducing the consumption of till roll and paper.

At CognitoFusion, we are dedicated to driving positive change and enhancing retail experiences. Our commitment to developing solutions that make a difference in the industry remains unwavering, and we look forward to continuing our journey of innovation and transformation in the retail technology landscape. Join us in shaping the future of retail, one innovative solution at a time.

Robotic EPOS Product Dispensing – Careplus Pharmacy

CognitoFusion has successfully managed the scoping, development, and project management of a groundbreaking Robotic Dispensing solution integration for NAVI Group. NAVI Group operates Careplus & StayWell Pharmacies, a chain of pharmacy stores. This innovative integration added a unique dimension to their EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale) system and customer journey.

The integration involved extensive development and testing, resulting in the introduction of a QR code generation system from ScreenVend Digital Screens. Customers receive a QR code upon making a purchase via a digital catalogue which is then scanned by the till, The till then efficiently processes the order, dispensing the required goods directly to the pharmacist via a shoot to the side of the till.

This technology has significantly improved operational efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction at Careplus Pharmacy stores. By embracing this advanced solution, NAVI Group has transformed the prescription fulfilment process and reduced waiting times, ensuring a superior customer experience.

Deposit Return Schemes – Ireland

Our team had the privilege of leading the technical solutions and building the technical stack for the pivotal introduction of the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) to Ireland in Lidl Ireland and BWG Foods’ stores. We seamlessly integrated the DRS systems and machines with Lidl and BWG Foods’ existing Till¬† and EPOS systems, enabling customers to take part in the DRS by scanning deposit vouchers at the Till level. This innovative solution streamlined the shopping experience and enhanced responsible consumer practices.

The implementation of the DRS not only simplified the process of returning deposits for customers but also contributed to significant reductions in waste and a more environmentally friendly retail ecosystem. It’s not just about efficient operations, but also about creating a positive impact on our planet. The introduction of deposit vouchers made it easy for shoppers to participate in the circular economy, supporting a greener future.

Software Testing & User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Software Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) represent critical phases in the software development and implementation process. These phases are instrumental in ensuring the quality, reliability, and functionality of the software or applications under development.

Software Testing involves a comprehensive evaluation of the software, including rigorous analysis, testing, and validation of all components, features, and functionalities. It encompasses various testing methodologies, from unit testing that examines individual components to system testing that evaluates the entire system’s performance. Our team employs a wide range of testing techniques, such as functional testing, regression testing, and performance testing, to identify and rectify any defects or issues in the software.

On the other hand, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) focuses on validating the software from an end-user perspective. It involves testing the software with real users or stakeholders to ensure that it meets the specific requirements and expectations of the intended users. This phase serves as the final checkpoint before the software’s deployment, ensuring that it aligns with the user’s needs and functions as intended in a real-world scenario.

Our approach to Software Testing and UAT combines cutting-edge technology, skilled professionals, and a thorough understanding of the software’s context and the end-user’s needs. By meticulously examining and validating every aspect of the software, we guarantee that the end product is not only technologically sound but also user-friendly and capable of meeting the unique demands of your business.
